Tova Olsson on Tantra and the Sacred Feminine

Tova Olsson is a scholar of religion, author and yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience in education. She is appreciated for her deep knowledge, her skillful storytelling, and her ability to explain esoteric ideas and philosophical concepts in an accessible way. She holds a MA in Religious Studies and is currently working on her PhD, her research examines the construction of gender within contemporary tantra in a Western context, where originally South Asian terms like 'Shiva' and 'Shakti' are applied onto the bodies of men and women, and in the process, become filled with new meanings. 

She is the author of several academic articles as well as the book "Yoga and Tantra: history, philosophy and mythology", published by Motilal Banarsidass. She also runs the online school Saraswati-Studies where she teaches popular courses that combine academic knowledge and devotional practice.
